May Allah's ﷻ peace and blessings be upon Prophet Hadrat Khidr عَلَيْهِ ٱلصَّلَاةُ وَٱلسَّلَامُ -

From today we have started the Qasas Al-Anbiya series which can end with any Prophet so our topic today is based on the blessed life of Prophet Khidr and the upcoming article will be based on Prophet Ibrahim's PBUH life.

Here we are explaining the commentary of Surah Al-Kahf (from 18:60 to 18:81) -

Prophet Al Khidr's (PBUH) name is Malkan. His real name is Baliya. His PBUH title is Abul Abbas. He (PBUH) has been called by various titles in various historical books. The name "Al Khidr" meaning is Green. He is called Khidr PBUH because wherever he sits, there is greenery. Baliya is a Syriac word. In Arabic, the name means Ahmed. According to some scholars, Hazrat Khidr (as) is the cousin of Hazrat Zulqarnain (as).

Prophet Khidr (AS) has also been a pioneer of Zulqarnain (AS). Scholars and elders say that every person who remembers Prophet Khidr and his father's name (PBUH) and surname will end up in the faith. According to our information, the time of Prophet Khidr is 1200 years before the time of Prophet Yousuf Al Siddiq. But according to some scholars, the time of Prophet Khidr may be closer to the time of Prophet Hud.

The Prophet Khidr is a descendant of Sam Ibn Prophet Nouh (PBUH). When the Hajj season arrives, the Prophet Khidr travels to Hijaz for trade and earns a living for an entire year. Most of the time Prophet Al Khidr is near rivers and oceans and keeps meeting different people. There is no doubt that Prophet Khidr is a prophet from the group of 1,24,000 prophets. Once Prophet Khidr drank water from the spring of Nectar and also took a bath in it.

So he will live till the Day of Resurrection. Khidr Nabi has met almost all the prophets and messengers who came after him.

How & Why Allah Created The Universe In 6 Days??

When the Pharaoh Ramses II with their army drowned in the Nile & Prophet Musa migrated to Syria with the Children of Israel the conversation of Moses with Allah began again. During this meeting, Hadrat Musa Alaihissalatu Wassalam asked a few questions from Allah, which are as follows -

Prophet Musa Alaihissalam asked Allah ﷻ -
1. O Allah, who is the dearest to you?

Allah ﷻ replied-
Who often mentions me and never forgets me.

Hazrat Musa Alaihissalam asked -
2. Who is the best decision maker?

Allah ﷻ said-
Who decides right and never lobbies his Nafs.

Hazrat Musa Alaihis Salam asked-
3. Who has the most knowledge of your bondmen?

Allah ﷻ said-
One who is not patient with brief knowledge and wants to acquire more knowledge and thus he may get some advice that proves right to him.

Hazrat Musa Alaihissalam asked-
4. If there is anyone with more knowledge than me, tell me where I could find him?

Allah ﷻ said-
O Musa, Khizr is more knowledgeable than you. Take a fish in a basket and travel where this fish falls, you will meet Khidr.

After the conversation ended, Prophet Musa set out on a journey to Majm al-Bahrain with his disciple Prophet Yusha ibn Noon ibn Prophet Efrahim ibn Prophet Yousuf Al-Siddiq (PBUH). This journey was very long. On the way, Prophet Musa stopped to stay. The fish jumped out of the basket into the sea. There was a hole where the fish fell. Prophet Musa awoke from his sleep and continued his journey.

And when it was time for lunch, the Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) asked the Prophet Yusha ibn Noon (peace be upon him) for the fish. The Prophet Musa (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to the Prophet Yousha (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): The fish will jump into the sea while you are resting. Prophet Musa said this is the place we were looking for. Saying this, Prophet Musa followed in his footsteps.

And returned to that place where Prophet Musa was to meet Prophet Al-Khidr. Prophet Khidr was also present there. He greeted Prophet Musa and said: O Musa Allah has given me such knowledge which you do not have. And you have knowledge that I do not have. The Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) said to the Prophet Khidr (peace be upon him): Will you observe your knowledge so that I too may learn something?

The Prophet Hazrat Khidr said, "Sure, but if you be patient with me and do not ask me about anything." Prophet Musa replied, Insha Allah, I'll be patient. Then the three of them (Peace and Blessings be upon them) started walking along the river. There, the people in the boat took the three of them in the boat with them, so while sitting in the boat, Prophet Khidr took out the ax from his swing and ripped the board of the boat and threw it into the sea.

Seeing this scene, the Prophet Hadrat Musa uncontrollably started asking questions to the Prophet Khidr, Did you cut the boat so that the people aboard would drown in the sea? Of course, you didn't do well. In reply, the prophet Khizr said, had I not told you that you should not ask any questions to me in the way? Prophet Musa replied, I am sorry, I forgot. not to question. So forgive me for this mistake. So they gentlemen (PBUThem) reached farther.

There the Prophet Khidr saw an immature child who was the only son of his parents. The Prophet Hadrat Khidr strangled this child and killed him. Seeing this scene, Prophet Musa became emotional again. And in a harsh tone, the Prophet Musa began to say to Hazrat Khidr, You killed a pure soul for a helpless soul. You have indeed committed a crime. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) replied:

I did not say that you will not be able to accept my terms. Prophet Musa said, "Well if I ask you questions this time, don't stay with me." They started walking again and while walking they reached a village and asked for food from the villagers. No one from that village gave them a feast. Walking a little further in the village, the three of them saw a falling wall, Prophet Hadrat Khidr Alayh Al-Salam leaned against that wall and straightened it.

Prophet Musa PBUH was already disturbed by the immorality of the villagers. Prophet Mousa could not control his anger and started saying to Prophet Hadrat Khidr, you could take some wages on that if you wanted. Hearing this, Prophet Hadrat Khidr Alaih Al-Salam said to Prophet Musa, now the meeting of both of us ends here. Now I will tell you the secret of the incidents which you could not control yourself.

The boat that I had torn down belonged to some poor people, and some distance away from there lived a cruel king, who used to snatch the fine boats. And used to leave the broken useless ships, so I deliberately tore that ship so that the cruel king would not snatch the ship. And the boy, I killed. His parents were righteous, while their child was a born infidel. Because his parents loved him dearly, they would fulfill his every wish.

I killed him so that his parents would not suffer from infidelity. Now his parents have escaped from disbelief and polytheism and now if they are patient then Allah will grant them a daughter who will marry a prophet of Allah and in his offspring will also be born a prophet of Allah, who will invite people to faith and guide a nation. And my secret to straightening the falling wall was that the wall belonged to two orphans under which the treasure of those orphans was buried.

The father of those two children was a good and pious man. Therefore, my Lord wanted these two orphaned children to grow up and take out their treasure, Allah has mercy and grace on those two children. After all these incidents, the three of you, peace be upon them, returned to their respective destinations.
